Support a national child care act

A private members' bill that takes early learning child care from patchwork to program needs your support.

Take action today by emailing your member of parliament.

Bill C303, the Early Learning and Child Care Act, will help build early learning child care through a law like the Canada Health Act. The NDP- sponsored bill directs federal funds to high-quality programs that are universal, accessible and accountable.

If your MP is a member of the opposition, they need to know Canadians are counting on their support as the bill moves to a vote on second reading on Nov. 22.

Tory MPs need to hear from their constituents that their "plan" for child care won't help Canadian children and parents.

E-mail your MP today. There's a sample letter, but add your own comments to be sure your letter has an impact. Form letters to MPs don't get noticed.

The upcoming vote is a free vote, so pressure on individual MPs is especially important.

Earlier this year 100,000 Canadians signed an open letter supporting a pan-Canadian child care program. Let's flood the Hill again. Don't forget to spread the word in your family, workplace and community.
