The 35 staff members at Cheshire Homes won't be heading back in to care for the residents there until their employer passes along funding that was earmarked for wages.
In the meantime, the picketline on Sherwood drive is going strong, and CUPE Saskatchewan is encouraging affiliates to show their support.
CUPE Saskatchewan president Tom Graham stopped by the line to share words of support and encouragement, and hand over a cheque on behalf of CUPE Saskatchewan's members.
"You're not alone out here," he told the striking CUPE members. "CUPE Saskatchewan is with you, your union is behind you, and you're going to win this thing and get what you are owed."
Support from the public was evident, as passing drivers honked their horns to echo Graham's statements.
Locals affiliated to CUPE Saskatchewan are encouraged to write a cheque, stop by the line and carry a sign and do whatever you can to show the workers at Cheshire that CUPE Saskatchewan supports them in thier fight for fairness.
