Despite a busy schedule of guest speakers and activities, delegates still found time to do the work of the convention; discussing and voting on all 65 of the resolutions and constitutional amendments put forward this year.

In keeping with this year's theme, "Many Hands," the Convention also celebrated the hands of our CUPE women, as International Women's Day was marked by delegates and guests.

Rallied by the National Women's Task Force report-back presentation on International Women's Day, more than 200 people loaded onto busses and marched the steps of the Legislative Building.

As the Legislature sat to begin its spring session, CUPE Saskatchewan President Tom Graham commended the NDP government for their work on women's equity issues. Then, Graham demanded that the government finish the job, noting that women are still paid 71-cents for every dollar earned by a male counterpart.

CUPE National President Paul Moist moved the crowd to chants and cheers, while women told their stories, and picked up the fight for working women.

Back at the Convention hall, other guest speakers included David Brooks, an expert on water, Nettie Wiebe, the Secretary-Treasurer of both CUPE National and CUPE Saskatchewan, and countless others.
