Information picket highlights lack of fairness for Regina’s public school workers
[Apr 4, 2012 11:18 AM]
Regina’s education support workers held another information picket Tuesday night, the second in two weeks, to highlight the Regina Public School Board’s refusal to make the same wage offer to education support workers as already provided to the board’s other staff including teachers. Over 100 people joined in the picket held in advance of a regularly scheduled Regina Public School Board meeting.
The Regina Public School Board is comprised of seven elected trustees representing seven sub-division areas of the city. Katherine Gagne serves as the board’s chairperson.
Regina public education workers—including Educational and resource assistants, maintenance and trades people, administrative staff and secretaries—are represented by CUPE 3766, CUPE 650, and CUPE 4643.
