Western Municipal Conference begins in Regina

REGINA: – About 140 civic workers from across western Canada will gather in Regina beginning on June 10 for a three-day conference organized by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).

This Western Municipal Conference features workshops and plenary discussions on a range of topics including:

Thursday, June 10: 2 p.m.

"The Need for Pension Plan Reform", led by CUPE’s Pension Campaign

Friday, June 11: 9:30 a.m.

"Upgrading and protecting our municipal assets: The case for a National Wastewater Treatment Fund" led by CUPE National President Paul Moist

Friday, June 11: 11 a.m.

"Taxation, the public sector and the CFIB," led by CUPE Economist Toby Sanger
